Looking For Health Insurance?

Health insurance is a subject that confounds most. In 2020, the average national cost for health insurance was $456 for an individual and $1,152 for a family per month. How is it that we are spending this much and yet most people haven't a clue what their insurance does or doesn't cover and how benefits even work?

That's what I'm here for. As an insurance advisor my first promise to you is to educate you on all options available that way you can confidently choose the best type of coverage for you and your loved ones. These days there are thousands of plans that change daily and each has something different to offer. FYI contrary to popular belief, the right private insurance can be significantly cheaper than those numbers above.

I specialize in private, health-based plans that offer nationwide coverage whether you're on or off the job. Did you know that most plans out there only protect you in your zip code and county? Well I'll tell you this much, by the time we're done talking you'll know the ins and outs and be an insurance expert!

Private health insurance plans offer low-cost PPO options, allowing you to access a broad network of healthcare providers at reduced rates. You can also see specialists without needing referrals.

OUR PROMISE: We ensure you are aware of your options and have just the right amount of coverage - not too little nor too much.

  • Can I only sign up for private insurance during “ open enrollment “ ?
Open enrollment is only for ACA/Obamacare and government plans. Private insurance is available year-round.
  • Is private insurance expensive?
For relatively healthy individuals, not only does private insurance cost less than public plans, but they also have far more coverage believe it or not!
  • Are these year long contracts?
No required length of time - you can keep the plan as little or as long as you’d like!
  • Will these plans cover me anywhere I go?
Yes! I work with nationwide PPO plans that travel with you across all 50 states on or off the job! You have the luxury of going to the doctor / hospital you prefer VS being restricted to select providers within your zip code as most people are.
  • What is the fee for your services?
No fee; I'm happy to help you out!
  • What are the biggest differences between ACA/obamacare, employer plans, and private insurance?
ACA/Obamacare is major medical coverage that you cannot be denied for due to any pre-existing conditions. Anyone and everyone can have it. It is affordable if you get a government subsidy on the monthly premiums (you must have a low income to qualify for a subsidy). If not, it is much more expensive than the private plans I can offer. These plans typically have unattainable deductibles and limited networks. Some employer plans can be beneficial for the employee themselves, but what they offer and how much they cover greatly varies. Additionally, the minute you add a spouse or child to the plan, your premium skyrockets. This is due to employers giving benefits solely to their employees while the family gains no cost reduction when added onto the plan. For this reason, we also offer employer-split coverage, which allows the rest of your family to gain immense cost reductions putting them on a separate plan while keeping the employee on employer plan so we can save as much as we can. Private insurance is health-based. You are sitting in a low risk pool with other healthy people like yourself. Therefore the insurance company can offer better rates while covering you for a lot more. There is a quick application process to qualify your health to gain these preferred rates which I guide you through. In the event you do not qualify based on health, we will still find the best health coverage options for you on the public marketplace!
  • What are insurance prices based on?
Public Marketplace (ACA/Obamacare plans) are based on income and age, whereas private plans are based on health (this is why you're able to save a lot of money). In most cases the only way to make coverage any cheaper is to either remove benefits or reverse age. Can't say I have that superpower!
  • Do you have other insurance plans as well?
I have Medical/Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Supplemental, Critical Illness, Income Protection (aka Short term disability), and access to everything out there, so I am happy to guide you in the right direction if you are needing something specific!
  • With private insurance do prior conditions make the plan cost more or exclude you?
Prior conditions do not make your premium cost more. Private insurance is based entirely off of zip code and age! Private plans are health based though, depending on how major your pre-existing condition is you may not qualify for the private side. I always make sure my clients' pre-existing conditions are covered. That is most important. This is why private insurance can offer great benefits because you are sitting in a small risk pool with other healthy individuals.
  • Why would I get private insurance if my employer offers benefits?
Every employer has something different to offer, it doesn't mean it's going to be the best for you. It's still always worth comparing to other plans to make sure you're in the best position! Typically employer plans are great for the employee because they usually contribute at least 50% towards their monthly premiums ( in larger companies). However, as soon as you add a spouse/dependents the premiums skyrocket because they don't not have to contribute to the families premiums & they are added at full price. I am always happy to do free policy reviews to make sure the employer plan makes sense for you!
  • What if I have an issue with my insurance plan?
After your policy is approved, you have the benefit of having me available for the duration of your policy! Anything you need - I'm your girl! Feel free to text my personal phone or give me a call :) You never have to figure anything out on your own.
